I've been wanting to get my hands on natural blue Spirulina powder for not only it's iron rich health benefits but also how the sea algae can dye your smoothie bowls and raw cheesecakes a stunning baby blue shade.
For my first experiment using the new ingredient I decided to play it safe and make a simple banana ice-cream with added vanilla protein powder. To my surprise on the first spoonful I was transported back to my childhood and reminded of the "Blue Heaven" milkshakes I used to enjoy at the beach.
So I decided to call this recipe a Blue Heaven Protein Nice- Cream because of the same vibrant baby blue colour, the strong vanilla flavour; achieved from the vanilla protein powder and the delicious creaminess; from both the frozen banana and cashew butter.
