In Australia the coffee scene is very cool and the amount of times I've sat down with a latte that is brewed to the finest and the froth detailed into a leaf or love heart is countless, but I just don't like the taste.... However that was until now, when I just had the sudden desire to give the seemly 'world's addiction' another go.
My Mocha Breakfast Smoothie is pretty epic, (if I do say myself) and decadent enough to be considered as dessert.
This smoothie will give you an instant buzz, obviously from the coffee, but will also power you through the morning due to the naturally low GI ingredients.

1 ripe banana, frozen
1 scoop vanilla or chocolate protein powder*
1/3 cup oats or 1 tbsp nut butter of choice
1/2 - 1 tbsp raw cacao powder, depending on the flavour of your protein powder
1 1/2 tsp granulated coffee or 1 expresso shot (cooled)
1/2 cup- 1 cup unsweetened plant based mylk, depending on how thick or thin you like it
Pinch of salt
1/2 tsp maca powder
1/2 tsp spirulina powder
1 large handful of spinach
Add all ingredients into your blender and blend until smooth.
Pour in into a glass or bowl and enjoy.
Feel free to add some toppings too!
