In Australia the coffee scene is very cool and the amount of times I've sat down with a latte that is brewed to the finest and the froth is a leaf or a love heart is countless, but I just don't like the taste.... Anyway that was until now when I just had the sudden desire to give this humble bean another go.
My Mocha Breakfast Smoothie is pretty epic, if I do say myself. It is so rich and decadent it could totally pass as dessert. This smoothie will give you no only that instant buzz from the coffee but will power you through the morning due to the the low GI banana, dates and oats.

1 ripe banana fresh or frozen
1 large handful spinach (optional)
2 medjool dates
1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup- 1 cup unsweetened plant based milk
2 tbsp plant based protein powder*
1 tbsp cacao powder
1 1/2 tsp granulated coffee (or to taste)
1/2 tsp maca powder (optional)
Add all ingredients to your blender and blend until smooth.
Enjoy as is or top with your favourite toppings. Serves 1
* Protein powder I use: Hemp protein powder, Purya or Myprotein
