Banana Porridge

My Banana Porridge may seem simple, but it's for those times when you're craving something on the plainer side.
The only flavour enhancer to compliment the oats is banana with a dollop of nut butter on top.
Below I've suggested my Cinnamon Almond Butter, but if you're really looking to strip it back, then 100% almond, peanut or cashew butter is also perfect.


This recipe is designed to nourish.

Ingredients
1/2 cup rolled oats
3/4 cup boiling water
1/2 ripe banana, sliced
1/2 cup dairy free mylk of choice
Pinch of salt

Toppings
1/2 ripe banana, sliced
​1 generous dollop o
f my Cinnamon Almond Butter or 100% nut butter of choice


Method
In a small saucepan add the oats and boiling water (off heat).
Allow the oats to absorb the liquid for a few minutes, before stirring through the banana slices and mylk.

Turn stove to a low- medium heat - gently cook - stirring throughout. 
Cook the oats until hot and at your desired consistency - I like mine on the thicker side.
 

Serve the porridge in a bowl and top with remaining banana slices and nut butter of choice.

Serves 1
