This porridge is truly delicious. Not only does it taste incredible but it embraces an amazing ingredient called Matcha! I was introduced to the superfood on Instagram and was so impressed with it's properties I knew I just had to try. If you are new to Matcha then you are probably wondering; Why the Fuss? Well in simple terms it is a super charged green tea powder. It actually has the nutritional value equivalent to 10 cups of green tea! It is praised for its positive effects with metabolism, energy, skin, overall health and detoxification.... So what are you waiting for? Buy some Matcha! Serves 1 - 1/3 cup rolled oats - 2/3 cup almond milk - 1 tsp honey - 1/2 tsp matcha - 1/2 tsp vanilla extract - pinch of sea salt - 1 tbsp almond butter Toppings: - 1 banana - shredded coconut - chia seeds In a small saucepan add oats and 1/3 cup boiling water. Allow the oats to absorb the water off heat for 5- 10mins. Once there is no liquid left pour almond milk over oats and stir on a low heat. As the oats begin to thicken add the honey, matcha, vanilla and salt. When you are happy with the constancy stir through the almond butter. Serve in a bowl and top with sliced banana, shredded coconut and chia seeds.
